The size that you \u003cstrong\u003emust\u003c\/strong\u003e use is 3\/4\" wooden dowel rod. These rods can be cut down to the length you prefer. Find a balance between holding the plate carrier securely and allowing for an easy mount\/ dismount.  Home Depot will cut them for you in store if you ask! \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eYou can paint your dowel rods if you'd like! Do some light sanding first and use a light coat, painting the rods too thick can make them difficult to insert into the mounts \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe included pins are inserted into the base on one end and pushed into the precut holes in the locker frame (with considerable force) on the other end. Then the bolts and washers are secured through the frame of the locker (bolts will extend from the back of the locker slightly) \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePlease note\u003c\/strong\u003e that some products  may have small imperfections or visible seams since 3D printing is not perfect and seams are a natural occurrence as the nozzle changes direction between layers.
