The Gun Safe (Gun safe base insert)

For any gun safe with "drywall" interior walls (any safe that typically comes with metal rails that are drilled or stapled into the safe interior for mounting shelves) 

Most of our previous designs for the Harbor Freight locker will work with your Safe! Here are the ones that do NOT work: Helmet Hanger, Plate carrier hanger 

The base insert is the start of your storage ecosystem. 

• You will need one base insert to mount a dowel rod down the wall of your locker.
• If you have a larger safe and plan to run a dowel rod down its longest side, we recommend adding a support base insert to the center of that rod to help prevent the rod from flexing. 
• You will need to select your attachments/holders to mount onto the dowel rod as an add on for this item.
  
• This selection includes (1) dowel mount for the front/left side of your safe, (1) dowel mount for the rear/right side of your safe, (6) wood screws for securing into the safe wall. 

We do not include the dowel rod! You will need to source your dowel rods from Home Depot or other hardware store. The size that you must use is 3/4" wooden dowel rod. These rods must be cut down accurately in order to fit properly and lock into place. Cutting the rods too short will cause them to not lock into the frame of the locker, cutting them too long will not let you insert them into the base. Home Depot will cut them for you in store if you ask! 

In order to find the correct length, take the distance of the wall that you would like to mount a rod to and subtract 1/2" to account for the width of the base inserts. 

• You can paint your dowel rods if you'd like! Do some light sanding first and use a light coat, painting the rods too thick can make them difficult to insert into the mounts 

Please note that some products  may have small imperfections or visible seams since 3D printing is not perfect and seams are a natural occurrence as the nozzle changes direction between layers. Products may also very slightly from product photos as I improve on the designs and release newer and better iterations. 

Material: Additive manufacturing with PLA CF (this is not a high temp material and should not be stored in direct sunlight).
